FROM THE CEO
Enterprise companies have already invested heavily in AI. But most systems seem to remain static—trained on historical data, brittle in the face of change, and siloed from the physical world they’re meant to support. The result? Self-driving cars that brake for plastic bags. Legal chatbots that hallucinate court cases. Robots that get lost in warehouses.
VERSES isn’t trying to replace those systems. We’re looking to make them smarter and more useful in the real world.
We recently demonstrated how our work helps robots adapt to complex settings, like homes or factories. They can now navigate around unexpected boxes or pick up dropped items.
In a IEEE Spectrum article we shared our views on how we believe the new Spatial Web standards can unlock AI for a wide range of uses, from energy savings and drone inspection to manufacturing and lunar rover simulations.
Genius is increasingly being used by our customers, both directly and through resellers. Customers have purchased Genius to develop solutions in a wide range of industries, from manufacturing and industrials through to CRM and advertising. New customers are looking to improve their current AI deployments and this is where we see an amazing growth opportunity in front of us.
We are looking forward to sharing more updates on this next chapter soon.
Warmly,
Gabriel René
Founder and CEO, VERSES
KARL’S CORNER
In this episode of Karl’s Corner, Dr. Friston explores what it truly takes for artificial intelligence to operate effectively in the real world. He explains why most AI systems falter outside the lab, emphasizing the importance of uncertainty, adaptability, and agency—core qualities of both biological and real-world intelligence—and how active inference offers a promising path forward. Dr. Friston also shares insights on his collaboration with VERSES, recent breakthroughs in AI research, and what excites him most about the future of the field.

VERSES featured in Artificial Intelligence Made Simple
If you want to get a better understanding of our technology, this is the article to read. It’s an in-depth, independent breakdown of how VERSES is redefining intelligence with AXIOM, our Active Inference-based cognitive architecture that runs faster, cheaper, and smarter than today’s leading AI systems. From physics-grounded principles to real-world edge performance, it captures why our approach is different—and why it matters.
IEEE Spectrum features VERSES on the Spatial Web
VERSES CEO Gabriel René has co-authored an article explaining the Spatial Web in IEEE Spectrum, the flagship publication of the IEEE, the world’s largest professional organization devoted to engineering and the applied sciences.
- The article centered on example use cases for the Spatial Web:
- Energy saving agents at home
- Coordinated mobility standards for autonomous vehicles
- Drones using HSML to read a dynamic map
- Digital orchards using the Spatial Web for zero-waste supply chains
- NASA is using the standards to better simulate lunar rover missions
Update on Genius™ Adoption
We have shared an update on the first three months of the commercial availability of our enterprise intelligence platform, Genius.
Letter to shareholders and webinar
VERSES CEO Gabriel René provided an update on the company’s strategy to shareholders in a letter and webinar.
VERSES included in Gartner® Hype Cycle™ for Artificial Intelligence, 2025
VERSES has been recognized by Gartner as a Sample Vendor in the Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence, 2025. Gartner Hype Cycles provide a graphic representation of the maturity and adoption of technologies and applications, and how they are potentially relevant to solving real business problems and exploiting new opportunities. Forbes says that the Gartner hype cycle is “a product of the famed consulting and reporting firm Gartner, [which] takes individual innovations and puts them on a graph with specific staging, according to anticipated adoption models."
VERSES Announces Closing of Public Offering

IWAI 2025
The 6th International Workshop on Active Inference (IWAI) will be held October 15–17, 2025, in Montreal. This global event brings together top researchers to explore how Active Inference—a neuroscience-inspired framework—can be applied to real-world decision-making and machine learning.
The VERSES research team submitted multiple papers this year, and all were accepted as either full papers or posters—a strong sign of recognition from the community.
Our submissions cover key areas such as our breakthrough AXIOM model, Theory of Mind for Multi-Agent Cooperation and how Active Inference supports exploration and adaptation in industrial settings.
All submissions went through a rigorous double-blind peer review, evaluated for originality, technical quality, and relevance. We’re proud that VERSES continues to help push this important field forward.
