VERSESÂŽ is now trading on OTCQB:VRSSD and CBOE:VERS
Welcome to our July newsletter
July marks an important moment for VERSES. For years, weâve cautioned that the mainstream approach to AI, which relies on pattern recognition and brute-force computation, has fundamental limitations. Now, leading voices in the space are echoing our concerns, confirming what weâve long believed: that conventional AI may perform well on narrow tasks, but falls short when adaptability, reliability, and explainability are paramount.
As mainstream AI's limitations gain broader attention, publications like WIRED, Popular Mechanics, and Psychology Today, as well as thought leaders such as François Chollet, are beginning to spotlight our approachâone inspired by how nature and the human brain actually learn, adapt, and make decisions. VERSES is increasingly recognized at the center of this conversation, advancing a new kind of AI that understands the world the way we do.
This momentum is translating directly into the market. Our specialized go-to-market (GTM) partners are embracing Genius as their enterprise AI platform of choice. From smart cities in Abu Dhabi with Analog, to predictive maintenance in heavy industry through Algo8, to intelligent workforce solutions with Kalosysâand Soothsayer Analytics joining as our first global resellerâall signs point to strong traction.
Each use case and client serves as a testament to the power and necessity of intelligence that adapts and learns in real time.
We have reached a growth inflection point. Demand is accelerating. Our network is expanding. VERSES is âgo for launchââready to bring Genius to organizations worldwide.
Thank you for your belief and partnership as we enter this next phase of growth.
Warmly,
Gabriel RenĂŠ
Founder and CEO, VERSES
This month, Professor Friston tackles some burning questions about progress at VERSES, curiosity, and his signature black suit. From the science of how babies learn to why he values routine (and his conservatory), Karl reflects on what drives both natural and artificial intelligence, and what keeps him inspired inside and outside the lab.

People often ask us, âWhat is the point of video game benchmarks, and how do they help solve real-world problems?â
Today, we released a video highlighting the progress we are making in our robotics research. This video shows how the approach used in AXIOM, previously demonstrated in the Gameworld benchmark, can be applied to robotics.
Benchmarks show that we can solve a critical problem: How models can learn quickly, starting from a simple goal, such as unpacking a fridge or scoring points in a game.
Robots often perform well on scripted tasks but can freeze when faced with new situations. Even something as simple as a box in the wrong place can halt progress. We aim to change that by giving machines a brain that, like our human brain, learns from experience, makes sense of uncertainty, and learns and adapts in real time.
In the video clip, we show how a robot decides to find its own way to get to the table because it canât reach its target location without going around the sofa. By contrast, many traditional robotics approaches canât âthinkâ about alternative approaches, unless they have had specific training.
Commercial overview
Genius launched on April 30 of this year, and it is showing strong demand. Since then, we have prioritized rollout to enterprise clients, particularly resellers who must solve business challenges that cost their clients millions of dollars.
Contracts have been signed with customers who tackle problems across a wide range of industries, with clusters in robotics and industrials, and software development, as well as in other industries including healthcare, media and telecommunications.
We have noted strong interest from customers who want to use Genius for reliable prediction and decision making. Common job titles among these customers include âChief AI Officerâ, âData Scientistâ, or similar, as well as 'CEO' among our resellers. Geographies include North America, Europe, Middle East, South Asia and East Asia.
USPTO Patent for Active Inference based Agent
In July 2025, the Company received a Notice of Allowance from the USPTO indicating that the non-provisional patent application titled âMETHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SPECIFYING AN ACTIVE INFERENCE BASED AGENT USING NATURAL LANGUAGEâ (new U.S. non-provisional application serial number 18/770,654) will likely be approved as a full registered utility patent upon the payment of the issue fee and submission of additional documentation. If approved, this will be the Companyâs first patent.
Analog Visits VERSES
This month, we hosted Alex Kipman, CEO of Analog, at our offices and showed him how Genius leverages Spatial Web Standards to connect IoT devices and large language models. This enables smart interfaces that adapt to users in real time, powering everything from smart rooms to smart buildings to smart cities, and the supply chains that connect them. It creates the possibility of new levels of optimization and personalization across physical environments, and forms the basis for smart city applications.
Dr. David Bray, Ph.D., has been named Chair of VERSESâ newly formed Strategic Advisory Council. In this role, Dr. Bray will help assemble a council of experts across industry, policy, and technology to accelerate strategic growth and drive adoption in both the private and public sectors. A globally recognized expert on AI, data, and cybersecurity, Dr. Bray has led major government and industry initiatives and was named one of the âTop 24 Americans Changing the Worldâ by Business Insider.
VERSES Announces Conversion of Analog to Genius Enterprise
VERSES and Analog plan to expand Genius into Smart City projects focused on energy, urban robotics, and edge-AIârunning locally on Analogâs secure infrastructure to enable real-time decisions while maintaining full data control, starting in the UAE. This follows a successful pilot simulation in which Genius managed ride-share fleets in two major cities, potentially increasing completed rides by up to 32%.
